He was also the founder of Methods of Mayhem, a rapper-oriented metal group. The musician has also explored his own musical career. Lee is a proponent of animal rights and PETA. In 2010, Lee sent a letter to Terry Prather, the president of SeaWorld, protesting the treatment given to Tilikum the orca. Lee believes that the animal should be released, and he stated that SeaWorld did not agree as Tilikum is their primary donor of the sperm. Lee stated that the SeaWorld's bizarre and complicated method of procuring Tilikum Sperm. Lee stated that he was hoping to avoid any more tragedies of trainers being killed, as these tragedies had resulted from the whales' fear of captiveization.
