Aunjanue Ellis

Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, an American screen and stage actress best recognized for her roles in films for the movie Ray Undercover Brother and on the television show The Mentalist. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in African-American Studies at Brown University and also a Master of Fine Arts in Acting at the Tisch School for the Art New York University. Aunjanue is an actress in theater and film as well as an actor and producer. Her acting career started in the theatre. Then she appeared on numerous television shows including independent films as well as mainstream film. Her most famous role was Miranda Shaw in ABC's Quantico in addition to appearing on BET's epic show The Book of Negroes. In both these roles she won critical acclaim as well as a variety of nominations and accolades, among them The Television Critics Choice Award for Best Actress. The actress made her professional debut in the role of Ariel In The Tempest in 1995. She has performed as a character on Broadway in Come and Gone, A Winter's Tale, Drowning Crow as well as Seeking the Genesis. Her film career is remembered for films such as Men of Honor The Caveman's Valentine The Express, and The Help. Her part as a regular on the drama series High Incident on ABC High Incident earned her praises.
